Heirloom Rice Waffles

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Carolina Gold Rice (brown or white)
  • 1 egg

Instructions

Cook Rice
  1. Cook rice; as per usual method: 1 cup Rice / 2 cup water
  2. Add Carolina Gold rice and water to pot. Bring to boil. Turn heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes.
  3. Transfer cooked rice to a cool pot, fluff and set aside to cool.
Make waffle mix
  1. Once rice has cooled, add one egg and stir to even consistency.
  2. Set waffle maker to 400°.
  3. Add rice and egg mix to waffle iron (1 heavy spoon full to each pocket) and let cook for approximately 5-8 minutes depending on waffle maker settings.
  4. Top with your favorite fixins’!
