Brewing Adjuncts
Adjunct grains and lautering aids for Southeastern breweries.
Bulk, North Carolina-Grown
Rice Hulls
Tidewater Rice Hulls are produced at our vertically integrated rice mill as paddy rice is milled down to brown rice. Our mill is an FDA GMP-compliant food-grade facility, and our rice hulls are deep frozen for over 72 hours to help eliminate pest pressure and preserve hull integrity.
Grown, milled, and stored by Tidewater Grain Company, our rice hulls are a cost-competitive option for Southeastern breweries purchasing rice hulls in bulk.

Heirloom Rice Adjunct
Carolina Gold Rice Meal
Carolina Gold Rice Meal gives brewers a cost-effective way to work heirloom rice character into a mash bill without requiring a cereal cooker.
Produced from our flour milling process, this coarse rice fraction can be added directly to the mash tun for a clean, fermentable adjunct with regional identity.
Our Farm
Our farm is located on the mineral-rich Blackland soils of North Carolina’s Pamlico Peninsula, where famously high organic matter soil and coastal winds imbue our crops with trace minerals. These distinguishing conditions have allowed for us to revitalize heirloom grains such as Black Seashore Rye, Carolina Gold Rice, and Santee Long Grain Rice.
Tidewater Grain Company is proud to be the the only certified heirloom seed breeder in the Southeast.
Our farm’s grain bins are equipped with the latest equilibrium moisture content technology, ensuring ideal storage conditions for all of our grains.
Each of our beverage grains passes through our 50,000 sq foot bespoke cold storage facility where the temperature is tightly controlled and never rises above 60℉. In one experiment, we maintained a germination rate of >90% on our malting-quality barley for over two years in this facility.
